Robert Brown Collection
Robert Brown was one of Glendale's most prominent arts figures - a serigrapher, ceramicist, glassmaker, sculpture, painter, and arts educator. Brown passed away in his home in Glendale at age 92 in 2009. His daughter, Jan Reilly, made a gift of his prodigious body of work to the Associates of Brand Library. Brown loved the Brand Library and had exhibited in its gallery several times. Two of his serigraphs, "Suburb" and "Opposite But Equal" were already part of the Associates' permanent collection. In 2010, the Associates mounted a retrospective show of Brown's work. Another month-long show opened on July 9, 2011 at New Puppy Gallery in Los Angeles. Proceeds from the sale of Brown's works benefit the Associates' support of cultural events at the Brand Library.
